Giving Thanks

Today is Thanksgiving, and we hope you are spending time with friends and family, enjoying a good meal, and maybe heading to 919 for the Unofficial Thanksgiving Day workout. At 919, we want you to also take a moment to give a quick thanks for all that your body does for you each and every day. Sometimes our bodies don’t perform exactly the way we want them to, sometimes they even really let us down. Maybe they don’t look exactly like we want them to in work or gym clothes. But let’s take a minute to step back and just think about all that our bodies do for us and how lucky we are to be able to move and use them everyday. Truly they are amazing.

When you are struggling through a workout or negative thoughts begin to creep in, just try to slow down and remember how lucky you are to have a body that you can move quickly through space. You can run, jump, lift weights and do burpees. Your body is capable of amazing things. At 919 we have athletes of every age and ability, and we are all a work in progress. But really, think about how far you’ve come, and all that your body does for you. And give it a little thank you.
