Ever noticed the AED on the wall between the shower and the bathroom? Many of us work out beside it everyday and rarely give it a thought, but it’s probably the most important piece of equipment in the gym. If you’re not familiar with this lifesaving device, 919 is here to help! It only takes an hour to brush up on your CPR skills and we’re going to make it easy for you.
On Saturday, May 12 at 10 am CrossFit 919 is hosting a free CPR and AED training, courtesy of the Compress and Shock Foundation. Join us for this community service event teaching CPR and AED training to anyone age 13 and older. This is open to the public, you do not have to belong to CrossFit 919. Physician Assistant and 919 Coach Ryan Johnson will lead us through roughly 15 minutes of presentation and 45 minutes of hands-on training with mannequins and AED trainers. There is not a certification course, but covers the exact skills you would need to potentially save a life with chest compression only CPR and use of an AED. We know a lot of our members are medical professionals already, but this session is ideal for bringing family, friends, neighbors and co-workers. Please help us spread the word about this important event!
You can reserve your spot at www.compressandshock.org. You’ll have to scroll down pretty far to find us on the list of hosting facilities, but we’re there! We hope to see YOU at the training on May 12!
